• Lane Scruggs, Senior Pastor

Lane is the son and grandson of pastors in the Christian Churches/Churches of Christ fellowship and is humbled to continue that legacy of ministry here at Oak Park. He has both the emotional and physical scars to prove that he is the youngest of three boys and despite what his brothers continue to tell him, his parents were just fine with a boy as the third. Trying his hand at baseball, basketball, volleyball, and track Lane decided that hockey was the right fit for him. After playing his Jr. Hockey right here in his hometown with the Calgary Canucks, Lane returned to Alberta Bible College and completed his BRE while working as the Admissions and Marketing Coordinator for the College. It was during that time that Lane met Chantelle and they were married in 2006.

After Bible College Lane moved across the country to Wycliffe College at the University of Toronto. Upon completing his Master’s program, Lane and his wife Chantelle accepted a role as the Wycliffe College Residence Dons – a five-year ministry they loved and continued in as Lane completed his Doctor in Theology program. Beyond the bullet points of his life that make everything look deceivingly simple and straightforward, Lane loves analyzing detailed procedures, filling out online reviews, editing legal documents and would never use sarcasm in an important bio. Mostly Lane is concerned about laughing more, learning from his three children, Hudson (2012), Cadence (2014), and Elise (2016) and sharing the gospel the best he can, in whatever way he can, with all the love that God has given him.

  • Martin Hosier, Associate Pastor

Martin and his wife Angela moved to Canada from England in 1990, settling near Kelowna, BC. In 2003, Martin was ordained and served as part-time Associate Pastor at Lake Country Christian Centre before moving to Alberta in 2006.

They began attending Oak Park Church of Christ in the fall of 2007 and, touched by the friendliness and warmth of the congregation, decided to call Oak Park home. Since then, Martin felt the Lord calling him back to ministry and has now served as our Associate Pastor since 2010.

The Hosiers have two daughters who are married to wonderful men and Martin is thrilled to have his 3 little grandsons run into the church looking for Poppa!

  • Dawn Driediger, COMMUNITY Pastor & Office Administrator

Dawn grew up in Edmonton and attended university at Concordia Lutheran College before moving to Calgary where she studied Public Relations and Event Planning at Mt. Royal College. For 18 years she worked for a large national non-profit organization and found great joy in working with many volunteers.

She loves teaching people, of all ages, about God's plan as shown in His Word and helping them to see that He has a great plan for their lives too. She served as a children's leader for 5 years with Bible Study Fellowship Int'l and was the Oak Park Children's Pastor from 2012-2019.

On staff since 2011, Dawn has a call on her heart to be the hands and feet of Jesus to whomever He puts in her path. She uses her gifts to pastor those in our community, including our First Nation's neighbours through our Bridge of Hope ministry. Dawn is also our office administrator helping to keep track of the day to day business of our church.

She and her husband Steve have three adult children and three grandsons who they take great delight in.

  • sara egely, FAMILY MINISTRIES pastor

Sara was born in England and moved with her family to Kelowna, BC when she was a child. When her parents relocated to Alberta, Sara made her home in High River, along with her husband Matt. In 2013 they moved to Calgary and became members at Oak Park Church. Since that time they have both been very involved as volunteers with our Youth. In 2016 they were blessed with their first child, Mason, who brings them much joy.

Sara joined our staff as Youth Pastor in March 2018. In February 2020 her role expanded to include our KidsPark Children's Ministry. She is also attending Alberta Bible College's PACE program. Together with her deep faith in Jesus Christ, great sense of humour and ability to really relate to others, Sara is using her gifts and passion for Children and Youth to serve God in our community.

  • SHELLEY POTTS, Worship Pastor

Shelley joined our staff in September of 2018. She was born and raised in Vernon BC where she grew up in a loving home with her parents and two younger sisters, although her mother passed away in 2008. She moved to Calgary in 2009 to follow a call into ministry and attend Ambrose University. Shelley graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Theology and a major in Worship Arts.

Shelley’s favorite thing in the world to do is sing. It is her desire to lead people into the presence of God and create an atmosphere of genuine, authentic worship and praise to Him while at the same time pursuing musical excellence. Shelley loves seeing people connect and engage with Jesus, entering into a deeper relationship with Him and greater understanding of the power of the gospel. She believes and has witnessed the fact that Jesus can transform our lives, and is eager to see this transformation in others as they commune with Him.
